THE ART OF DISCOVERY
India captures the imagination like no other place on earth. Whether it's your first visit or one of many, we create journeys with the time and freedom to experience India's rich heritage, quiet wild spaces and characterful stays.
Slow Journeys
Wild Places
Living Traditions
Some places deserve more than a fleeting visit. Slow Journeys are designed for travellers who want to linger a little longer, travelling by rail or road through India's changing landscapes, discovering rural communities, heritage towns and hidden corners along the way. Perhaps taking time for yoga, meditation, quiet beaches and moments of reflection, these journeys invite you to experience India beyond the highlights.
From the forests of Central India to the Himalayas and Gujarat, Wild Places celebrates India's extraordinary natural heritage. Stay in carefully chosen wildlife lodges, explore national parks with expert naturalists and discover a country that's home to remarkable biodiversity, from Bengal tigers and leopards to hornbills, elephants and thousands of bird species.
India's traditions are woven into everyday life. Meet local artisans, celebrate colourful festivals, explore magnificent temples, discover regional cuisines and witness centuries-old craftsmanship that continues to thrive today. Journeys that offer meaningful connections with the people and traditions that make India unlike anywhere else.
Journey Collections
No two journeys are alike. We believe travel should be measured not by the number of places you've visited, but by the stories you return home with. India is a country that rewards curiosity, inviting you back time and again to discover something new.
Every Peacock and Banyan journey is shaped by six simple principles that place people, place and purpose at the heart of every itinerary.

Meet Helen
My first experience of India was an overland expedition from Kathmandu, Nepal. We travelled from the mighty Ganges in Varanasi towards the vast deserts of Rajasthan, exploring central India's forests in search of wildlife. We dipped our toes in the Arabian Sea and travelled to India's southernmost point, before visiting the villages of Odisha, the tea regions, temples and hill stations on our journey north.

Along the way, elephants and camels walked the roads, alongside motorbikes crammed with people and trucks carrying massive loads. I was awed by Jaisalmer's great fort rising from the desert like a giant sandcastle. Ordering masala dosas on an overnight train to Goa, cycling around Puri and waking up early to watch the sunrise over the distant Himalayas from Darjeeling were all part of the journey.

Every region is distinct, each with its own landscapes, traditions and way of life. That journey sparked a passion for India and ultimately led to the creation of Peacock & Banyan.

Today, I work with trusted local partners to create thoughtful, bespoke journeys that go beyond the obvious, helping others discover the India that first captured my imagination.
